Asagaya Church
Tokyo, Japan

Noack Organ Company, 1992

Asagaya Church is a pleasant contemporary building. In spite of the limitations of the small site it occupies amidst a jumble of single-family houses the church feels spacious and boasts fine acoustics. We enjoyed the challenge of designing the organ case to harmonize with the architecture and its fine Japanese furnishings. Tonally the organ serves the fairly typical Methodist service at Asagaya with a rather classical specification and voicing that lends itself to all manner of vocal accompaniment as well as most idiomatic organ literature.
